Princeville, Hawaii, July 15, 2017 — Kimberlie Miyamoto of Kahului, shot a 2-over-par 74 during Saturday's 2017 U.S. Women's Amateur Sectional Qualifier conducted by the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association and the USGA, at the challenging Princeville Makai Golf Club in Princeville, HI. The field consisted of 15 players and Miyamoto was one of two players to earn a spot to play in the championship proper. The championship will be contested at San Diego Country Club in Chula Vista, CA., from August 7-13. 

Also qualifying was Jasmine Cabajar, of Wailuku who shot 76, winning in a three-hole playoff.

The U.S. Women's Amateur is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association, 10 of which are strictly for amateurs.
